BalletBalletWelcome to The Ballet Academy at Lindbergh! We have a fantastic team of skilled ballet instructors lead by Mrs. Kay Tabisaura, RAD, RTS. Please see each class specific description below. Pre-K Creative Dance: Ages 3.5-5 (Instructor - Mrs. September) Jumping over streams and soaring like birds, students will move through an imaginative dance adventure. This fun-filled class will help strengthen gross motor skills. We'll use music, rhythm, and gestures that are playful and creative. No previous experience necessary. (class attire: boys- white t-shirt, black shorts, white socks, white ballet slippers; girls- pink short sleeved leotard, pink- or skin-colored tights, pink skirt, pink ballet slippers) Kinder Ballet: Ages 5 - 6 (Instructor - Mrs. Kay) This class will follow the RAD Pre-Primary syllabus and aims to develop coordination, musicality, and ability to express emotions through movement. Classes include the preparation of creative dances and simple choreography. (class attire: boys- white t-shirt, black shorts, white socks, white ballet slippers; girls- pink short sleeved leotard, pink tights, pink skirt, pink ballet slippers) Pre-Ballet: Ages 6-7 (Instructor - Mrs. Kay) A preparation for formal ballet lessons, these classes focus on dance technique, musicality and refining gross motor skills. This class will follow the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Primary syllabus. (class attire: boys- white t-shirt, black shorts, white socks, white ballet slippers; girls- pink short sleeved leotard, pink tights, pink skirt, pink ballet slippers) Young Dancers: Ages 8+ (Instructors - Mrs. Kay & Mrs. September) An introduction to formal classical ballet technique, correct posture, turn-out, feet articulation, and introduction to basic dance vocabulary. At this level it is strongly recommended that students come to class twice a week. (class attire: boys- white t-shirt, black shorts, white socks, white ballet slippers; girls- navy blue tank leotard, pink, pink ballet slippers)Le Petit Ballet: Ages 10+ (Instructor- Mrs. Kay) Turning steps, allegro and adagio will be introduced at this level. Students are expected to recall exercise settings/short dances, please have previous ballet training. Character dance will be included in the classes. (class attire: boys- white t-shirt, black shorts, white socks, white ballet slippers; girls- navy blue tank leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers) Ballet Royale: Ages 13+ (Instructor - Mrs. Kay) Build on your skill at a quick pace with longer and more complicated "enchainements" or combinations. This class is for the more advanced student and includes point work. (class attire: boys- white t-shirt, black shorts, white socks, white ballet slippers; girls- black leotard (any style), pink tights, pink ballet slippers) All classes: Please have hair pulled away from face in bun or ponytail. Bricks 4 Kidz LEGO Motorized Building: Grades K-5Bricks 4 KidzAmateur Robotics inspired by Lego building: we will learn, stem topics and build moving models, using Lego bricks, motors and gears.
