Gateway Writing Project Presents- Writers at Play: Grades 6-8

Participants will engage in daily opportunities for writing, structured exploration, and team building.

Your child will be involved in a variety of play-based writing experiences. They will explore various play stations, participate in community-building activities, and engage in multi-genre writing.

What does a typical day look like?

A typical day includes time to explore stations and writing through play, a genre specific mini lesson, working with a small group to build community, and optional writing share.

What if my child doesn’t like to write?

Loving writing is NOT a prerequisite for participating. The play-based nature of the experience, community building activities, and exploratory exercises will encourage your child to take risks and see writing as something that is fun and accessible.

*Campers need to bring a lunch, snack, and water bottle each day.
